Best of the Best! At least in my opinion…
Favourite Deutschland Hat

I purchased the Adidas Deutschland hat for the EURO 2016 European Cup Championships at Sport Chek (788 Robson St, Vancouver, BC), and I have to say—it’s still one of my favorite pieces of fan gear!
This hat was released as part of Adidas’ official merchandise for the tournament held in France, and it perfectly captures the pride and spirit of German football. With FIFA 2026 just around the corner, this hat is now almost a decade old, and it’s still going strong. A true testament to Adidas’ quality and craftsmanship. If you ever come across one, it’s definitely worth grabbing for any Germany football fan!

Favourite German Restaurant on the North Shore
We celebrated the Day of German Unity at Jaegerhof on the North Shore on October 5th, 2025, and it was an unforgettable experience! This cozy, welcoming restaurant truly brings the flavors of Germany to Vancouver, and their Jaeger Schnitzel was the highlight of the evening.
The schnitzel was perfectly crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and smothered in a rich, flavorful mushroom gravy. Paired with traditional sides and a refreshing German beer, it was comfort food at its finest. The ambiance, with its rustic Tiroler charm and friendly service, made the celebration even more special.

Favourite German Monument Downtown Vancouver

The German Fountain in Robson Square stands as a symbol of German-Canadian friendship, presented by the German community during British Columbia’s Centennial Celebrations. This gift was meant to reflect the long-standing contributions of German immigrants to BC’s cultural and economic landscape.
Designed by artist Gerhard Class, the fountain embodies a minimalist aesthetic—its austere, understated design may not be the most eye-catching, but it carries a quiet dignity. The stone structure, with its clean lines and functional form, mirrors the practicality and craftsmanship often associated with German engineering. While some might find it too plain, it offers a moment of reflection in the bustling city center.
Though it lacks the grandeur of other monuments, the German Fountain remains a meaningful tribute and an important cultural landmark in Vancouver.
Rating: 4/5 – A Modest Yet Significant Historical Landmark
Favourite German Church in Vancouver
As the last remaining German church in Vancouver, St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church is more than just a place of worship—it’s a vibrant hub for the German-speaking community. Offering bilingual services in German and English, the church preserves traditions while welcoming people from all backgrounds.
Beyond Sunday services, St. Mark’s fosters community connections with a variety of programs. Families with young children can enjoy the German playgroup, while adults can participate in exercise classes, Bible studies, and music lessons. The church is also active in the wider community, taking part in events like BC Culture Days and hosting cherished traditions such as the St. Martin’s Lantern Festival.
For those looking to connect with German heritage, faith, and culture, St. Mark’s is a welcoming and engaging place that truly brings people together.
