Ekkehard Goetting, APXG Partner, has an extensive business background in the Asia-Pacific region and a strong network of senior professionals.

After a decade in business consulting across Western Canada, Montreal, and Toronto—focused on energy and automotive—he spent 26 years as Chairman and CEO of German Industry and Commerce Ltd. in Hong Kong, South China, and Vietnam. From 2008-2015, he also chaired German Industry and Commerce Greater China (Taicang) Ltd.

With deep expertise in Greater China and Vietnam, Ekkehard has led annual business missions to the region since 1990. He established the first German Industry and Commerce office in Hanoi in 1994 and has advised German SMEs and multinationals, including Siemens AG, on market entry.

For over a decade, he coordinated Asia-Pacific initiatives for major German industry organizations and served as a non-executive director at VNI, Vietnam Infrastructure Ltd. He has 25+ years of trade fair expertise, representing Berlin, Hannover, and Nuremberg Trade Fairs, as well as Hamburg’s port and business interests in China, Hong Kong, and Vietnam.

Ekkehard has held honorary roles as President and Vice President of the German Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and served on the Advisory Board of European Studies at Hong Kong Baptist University. He studied Law and Computer Science at the University of Hamburg.
