Hannover Messe Castle Hotel
If you plan to attend events like the Hannover Messe on March 31, 2025, you might want to consider staying at The Kastens Hotel Luisenhof. Here’s a brief history: In April 1856, Heinrich Kasten purchased a house at Theaterstraße 9, near the royal court. He elegantly and exquisitely furnished the space, founding the KASTENS HOTEL LUISENHOF. After Heinrich Kasten’s death in 1893, his son Friedrich Kasten transformed the hotel’s facade into an Art Nouveau style in 1906. Between 1914 and 1916, Friedrich built a new building, the Luisenhof, creating a spacious hotel with 130 bedrooms. It quickly became as famous as the original Kastens Hotel.
In 1919, just after completing the Luisenhof, Friedrich Kasten passed away, leaving the hotel to his children, Leo and Mary Kasten. However, in 1921, Leo also died, making Mary the sole heiress. Towards the end of World War II, both the Kastens Hotel and the Luisenhof were completely destroyed by bombs. With no other hotels in Hannover, rebuilding began as quickly as possible.
By 1947, in time for the inauguration of the Hannover Trade Fair, the first hotel building was completed. In 1952, the new fair hotel was constructed, forming an integrated unit. In 2006, KASTENS HOTEL LUISENHOF celebrated its 150th anniversary. Next year, it will mark its 170th year. For more information, visit their website: Kastens Hotel Luisenhof.
